I have a Compaq And I want to turn it into a server. But I don’t know what I should use. I have a Cpanel license that I want to use as a hosting Service. Which one do I use that’s compatible with a Compaq Computer.

Well both should be fully compatible, but Linux is usually the #1 choice for servers, because it’s secure, and well among other things free.

You will get a LOT more reliability out of Linux.
I believe there was a study done and found something like a 20 to 1 ratio between Windows and Unix for required diagnostic downtime. Or putting it layman’s terms, Windows crashed 20 times more often.

if you’ve never used linux before and you aren’t comfortable with the *nix language you should probably use something familiar(win2k) but newer linux systems like ubuntu are super user friendly. in my opinion win2k is easier, linux is more powerful.
