Free WordPress hosting and Domain Name?
Is there any service that will let me host my own WordPress Blog for free, I don’t want to use WordPress.com or sites like that, because you can’t use plugins or custom themes.
Please Help!
Yes there are lots of free hosting and domain name. Google free domain and free hosting with php and mySQL
I am planning on getting a dedicated server, what do you recommend?
I have a small webdesign studio and I need the server to host my clients. The best deal I’ve found so far is godaddy.com what do you think of that company?
What I need is:
– Linux server with cPanel and unlimited domains
– low cost
– great stability, speed and great service
what do you recommend?
Yes, godaddy is very good, their brand is well known and reliable. So I think they can’t offer bad service.
Go with Godaddy, or you could try – http://tinyurl.com/spydh – I’ve heard people saying good things about them. I haven’t bought a dedicated server, but I have some websites on their hosting. Works good.

Web Hosting – An Investment Or an Expense?
Is having your own website an investment or an expense?
The following article will help you gain clarity on this issue.
First of all, let us consider the costs of having a website. A domain name with sufficient amount of space (that also includes a database support for interactive websites) costs under $30 per annum. This is roughly $2.5 / month.
Then comes the designing and maintenance costs. Depending on your requirement, web design can cost as little as $50-$100. There is no upper limit; it can go into several thousands depending on what exactly you want and who is doing it. Ideally, you should ask your friends and associates to refer web designers who have done a good job for them and also charged reasonably. Prepare your requirements in advance before taking quotes. Be very clear on what exactly you want for your website. This will save you a lot of pain. Be sure to cross check the quotes with sites like elance. Discuss the maintenance charges also, if you need to update your site often.
There is another option where you can save on web design costs if you don’t need a very fancy / customized design. Most hosting providers will offer you site builder options at a nominal cost. In fact, you can even use a blog platform like wordpress or a CMS platform like joomla and drupal. Most hosting providers will offer fantastico support, which enables you to install these opensource softwares with a few mouse clicks. I would advice you to first go with one of these options, preferably the wordpress / CMS option before you spend on web design.
Once you’ve worked out these costs, you now need to consider the returns. Business is all about ROI (Return On Investment) and you should seriously track all leads and / or orders you receive through your website. First of all, you need to accept the fact that you won’t start getting orders the moment your website is live. “If you build it, they will come” doesn’t work here. You need to work towards promoting your website.
There are several online and offline ways to do this. For offline promotion, you should include your website URL in every piece of communication as you can, like visiting cards, yellow page ads, invoices, quotations, etc.
For online promotion, you should first make it a point to include your URL in email signatures and forum post signatures. Next, you should consider spending a little on PPC (Pay Per Click) ads. The most important online promotion is free traffic from search engines. If you want to win the SEO game, there are only three things that you really need to concentrate on:
1. Unique content: Don’t ever copy content from other websites, create your own. If required, hire a decent copywriter, but first start on your own.
2. Updated content: Search engines love websites which have new content added regularly, so make it a point to add something new to your website at least once a week. If there are no new products or services that you add, consider adding some latest news in your industry. Or you can simply add useful tips that cater to your industry.
3. Backlinks: The more websites that link to yours, the more weight search engines give to your ranking. So try to get more websites linking to you, preferably from related content sites. You can also write articles that are beneficial to your targeted audience and submit them at article directories. Remember to add your website link in the author’s bio (you are seeing this in action right now; check out the bio following this article).
These are the three pillars that SEO stands on. If you do nothing else except follow these, you will get much more targeted traffic than your competitors. You don’t even need an SEO consultant.
If you can generate enough business from your website, it makes sense in continuing it. It then becomes an investment with good returns. You should give it a try for at least 2 years, to track proper ROI. Once you’re fairly successful, you can think of other ways to improve your website. If you’re making more than you’re spending, its time to take your website to the next level. Start by hiring / outsourcing people to write content for you. Use lead generation tactics by giving away free reports in exchange for people to signup to your mailing list.
While your website is certainly an investment worth making, you can also claim the costs as business expenses! Consult your accountant for details.

Speed of Website – Important Consideration of Any Web Hosting Provider
One of the first things any individual would like for his website is the speed of the site. Though people would like their sites to be running full steam, every time when someone clicks on their site, getting this right is a headache alright for a lot of web hosting companies. One of the major concerns for these companies in this case is the bandwidth crunch.
With so many websites being launched over the Internet, server space is a major constraint for a lot of web hosting companies. Most companies do have their dedicated lines, but even they can accommodate only a certain number of requests. At most times, you would find that it is a tough call balancing between good services and the price.
The dampener here is the pricing. People do not want to pay a lot for the web hosting services. With this fact being given, you would find that companies at times tend to less diligent towards the services they provide. There are some web hosting services providers who are doing a good job, but from an aggregate perspective, you would find that this space is crowded with a lot of participants.
Now, here is a factor that severely impedes speed of a website. People tend to opt for cheap web hosting services at most times, forgetting the fact that cheaper web hosting services would only give them certain benefits. Worse still, individuals go a step ahead and design some really complex websites. They take the extra effort to load the website with a lot of supplementary things, which the website could have done well without.
In a nutshell, it can be said that people would definitely want their website to run at full steam. With this being said, the problems in the hands of web hosting companies, is not a pleasant one indeed. At least for now, no answers are being found!
Hostgator hosting company provides the best website speed with 99.9% server uptime.Get more information on Hostgator Hosting Services HERE.

When using wordpress, how do you set it up to use with your own domain and hosting company?
I am ready to enter the world of WordPress. Sounds great. My background is FrontPage, Classic ASP, SharePoint Designer, and light .net programming. I have a domain I have had for some time and hosting at godaddy. I want to use the functionality of WordPress and its plug-ins but am not sure where to start. Any advice or clues are welcome.
Log into your account go to your Hosting Control Center, Click on "Your Applications", Search for "WordPress", click on the search result "WordPress 3", then click "Install Now" and GoDaddy will set up the database for you automatically. You can tell it either install into a folder (i.e. www.yoursite.com/blog) or a sub domain (i.e. blog.yoursite.com). You can install WordPress on both Linux and Windows servers so your type of hosting won’t matter as long as you have the right PHP & MySql versions on your plan.
What are better hosts than hostgator?
i am looking for Hostgator Alternatives for shared Linux hosting. Because, they have many limitations if your site gets higher load or the mysql server receives more number of queries. Bluehost/hostmonster is ok, but cannot say, they are equal to or greater than hostgator either in technology or support.
Main features i am looking for are
CPANEL hosting
Able to withstand higher load due to more visitors
High processor performance
A good mysql server performance
Maybe is time to upgrade to a vps on something similar? You will no share your resources.
which website is the best for cheap web hosting?
which website is the best for cheap web hosting?
I love http://www.domaincityhosting.com they have great prices on incredible services. You probably only need their $2.99 plan, it is loaded with features. But they do not skimp on service, 24/7 live human support and up-time guarantee.
