What’s the difference between goDaddy’s wordpress hosting and web hosting? is it just that the wordpress hosting service has wordpress pre-installed or are there more differences?
Its just another option to host your wordpress site. A place to park it
WordPress = free
Hosting = paid
To host a WordPress site you need a webhosting platform that supports php/mySQL and recommend Linux hosting (not Windows)

wordpress does not need any special kind of hosting,my bet is there is no diffrence, theyare either trying to con you if its more, orlie to you to make you pay extra later on in hosting.

Web Hosting is a service that companies offer for people to be able to have a website on the internet. In order to have a website you need to put your website files (html, css, images….) on a computer connected to the internet called a web server. A web hosting company sells you space on their web servers so you can have a website accessible on the internet.
WordPress is simply a piece of software consisting of html,css, php and a mysql database. WordPress could be installed on just about any webserver with just about any web hosting company.
